How magic could be real

This theory seems impossible and absurd when you first set your eyes on it. "How can magic be true?" you'd probably be thinking. "Magic is just something that people do to trick you!". But, there may actually be some proof of this.

Scientists claim that the Big Bang theory is the best theory that anyone in history has ever thought up of. But, there is an obvious problem. The closest scientists can get to saying how the universe started from is that a tiny squashed ball of matter just exploded and formed the universe. What they can't explain is where the matter came from. As tiny as it is, it had to come from somewhere. This is where the greatest minds on Earth have failed. Nobody in recorded history has come up with an idea as to how the matter appeared suddenly, out of nowhere. Thus magic may actually, have one, small laugh at science. Why? Magic, religion and everything else claims that solid matter can appear from absolutely nothing. This may mean that magic, as weird as it seems, may be able to explain the mystery of the beginning of the Big Bang.

Even if magic may be able to explain this infamous mystery, we will not know what actually kick started the universe. Hopefully, you will be able to explain your ideas about this.

Weird Topic: Common sense

Common sense is a weird thing, isn't it? It's weird because common sense has no true meaning. How is this true?

Think of it like this. What would you think about drinking poison? You'd probably say: "are you nuts? Poison is obviously bad for you!" But, what would a different animal think about this? They'd probably say "Well, duh, poison for humans=paradise!". This is because while people think poison is bad for themselves, it's good for other animals. Common sense is basically something that a half-crazed person thought of, something that grew and grew until people thought that it was the right thing to do. Common sense is actually related to your opinion. Even if you think that common sense is always the right thing, it's actually not as simple as you think.

Basically, what is common sense?

Aung San Suu Kyi

The Burmese government is, extremely pathetic in their attempts to hold their preciously, and certainly doomed government. Why is it like that? It all starts with the arrest of Aung San Suu Kyi.

Aung San Suu Kyi's detention is, in fact, a huge mistake made by Burma's military junta. Obviously, their motive was to prevent the downfall of their goverment, which is certainly imminent, as, who would want a bunch of nutjobs running the goverment (nobody in the right mind would). Instead of preventing the downfall of their government, they have already secured the government's downfall. Since Dr. Suu Kyi already has been supported by 59% of the voters in the general election, it adds the the controversy, as it attracts international intrest. It was certainly a wise decision to impose sanctions on the country. The only problem is that, the military junta may decide to put Aung San into more misery if the U.N try to intervene. The accusations against Aung San Suu Kyi, such as being "an axehandle of neo-colonists" and "a traitor who deserves to be deported" is one of the desperate excuses of the government to the world to defend themselves against inquestionable evidence that they are responsible for handling something that is extremely close to being inhumane (probably it already is). Basically, the government is scared of political powers such as U.S.A and other major countries, so it is trying to hide the fact that somebody is rebelling against their corrupt system, by simply dumping her into house arrest with a hastily thought of 'answer'. Talks with these people are useless. Why try talk to a military junta? It only premotes their reputation making them even more dangerous

Please post your opinions on this subject and on others in this blog page.

(Aung San Suu Kyi is not corrupt as she has earned a Noble Peace prize)

Hong Kong: Stock Betting products

Today in Hong Kong there was a financial outrage. Some people in Hong Kong had purchased a product that depended on betting on the stock market. This is why I think the consumers were extremely unreasonable......

Of course, at one time betting on the stock market is an extremely dangerous procedure. That is why some people lost their money while betting on the stock market. They are at present trying to get their money back by blaming the banks for not explaining the risk to them. Well, why didn't it occur to them to ask the banks? Although there is some resonable wrongdoing on the banks part, it is the consumers themselves who are to blame. To put this in another perspective, it is comparable to a 100% no risk, full refund, secure profit product. Of course, impossibly good products don't last long. This is exactly like what the Lehman investors did.

In Hong Kong, there will almost certainly be more people like these investors. They need to be more cautious next time.

Perspective

This is an extremely complicated part of humans since they first realised they had it. Why is it the complicated? It's because of this......

Perspective can change everything. It is the driving force of the human imagination. How? Well, for once, a person that has lots of power can infulence many other people with his perspective. This is how many wars and such things broke out over time, and how many other leaps in technology. Perspective indirectly is the fuel for the rise of man. What can perspective achieve?

One very weird kind of thing that perspective can do is make good people bad people. For example, the Japanese perspective of themselves was that they were valiant warriors fighting for their country. On the other hand, the Americans thought that the Japanese were violent thugs that used any means, even if this meant taking their own life, to kill their opponent. Americans are seen in the same way.

Another almost impossible to solve question that perspective raises is, where did perspective itself originate? It seems like a simple question with one simple answer, but that one simple answer is incredibly hard to find. Since perspective has no solid appearance, it is so hard to find that nobody knows what form or shape it comes in. All we do know is that it gives a living animal the ability to make decisions.

The final, and most puzzling question is, what is perspective itself? Is it a figment of man's imagination? Does perspective even exist? What is the true meaning of the word 'perspective'? Since all things have to start at a single point, when did 'perspective' come to be?

Why don't you have a go at these issues?

Lehman Brothers: Bankruptcy

People in Hong Kong are turning to sheer desperation in losing their money from investing in Lehman Brothers. But this was not the fault of the company. Here is why the people are doing the wrong thing......

Basically, it's not the fault of the government for misinforming the people of Hong Kong. It's the people of Hong Kong which have so foolishly invested their money in the Lehman Brothers. The only thing they have to blame for losing their money is themselves. The most outrageous thing about these investors is they think they can just bring this problem to the government and live happily ever after. What disgust everybody is the fact that they are no less pampered than babies. One other thing is that when these people are stuck in a pretty horrible situation, they don't try to solve it the hard way, they prefer to whine about it.

One of the poor excuses the Lehman Brothers' investors make is the fact that 'the government didn't tell us that these stocks were unstable'. Well, how would the government have known? Besides, the investors could have easily researched this themselves via the Internet. In a simple way, they are trying to blame the government for something that they are responsible for.

Basically, the reason why this whole thing is outrageous is because these investors think that they will have a guaranteed 100% refund, no matter whatever happens. It's simply because they are too greedy. They think they have a stock in which they certainly can make a profit. Well, the world isn't that perfect. It's a place where you win it, or you lose it.

One of the saddest things ever about these protests is the fact that the motive is to blame some other person and get money back from it. So, here's a message for those whiners: you lost your money, LIVE WITH IT.

Discussion: Who will rule China after the Communists?

Many people have thought as driving out the communists the last of their worries. This was ended when a communist general stepped out and said: "Well, who will rule China after us?" This question seemed simple, until they found that the Chinese people would not stand being ruled by other countries. Why? It's because of this......

When people said that they did not want to be ruled by a foreign country, this presented a problem. Most people thought that they could just elect a president and everything would be totally fine, but, that wasn't the case. Why? Because there must be a person to be in charge of the election. To that, there must be an election for that manager, which has to be held by another person and so forth. There was another problem, which was, who would keep law and order in China in the time it takes to elect a new president? Military force from other countries do not make a good police force, as the American forces showed in Iraq. Just after that country was liberated from Saddam Hussein, even with a military presence, the streets of Iraq went berserk with ransacking. All you had to do was to look in a direction and you would see a person carrying a refrigerator, food and random stuff back home. And that was only in Iraq. What would happen if that same situation came to China? The result of that would be total chaos. Many other problems face a China with no Communist government.

On the other hand China with a Communist government is no solution either. The Chinese government treats people that don't support them like dirt. This includes all non-supporters, even for people who work until they almost drop. The communist system can be compared to a pile of dung (sounds a bit weird). The non-supporters of the communists are squashed at the bottom under layers of stinking neglect, while the communist supporters are at the top, enjoying freedom and fresh advantages.

After all of this, there is one thing that you can do. Post your own solutions to this problem in the comments section and start a discussion on who should be in charge of China.

Iran: Pointless President

As you probably know, president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has been elected by a landslide victory. What you don't know, is that he is obviously a treacherous president. Why? Well, here are the reasons......

First of all, why does Mahmoud Ahmadinejad respond to protests violently? It shows that he is a senseless president, as the only solution to a problem to him is violence.

When you find peace within yourself, you become the kind of person who can live at peace with others.

The voting also has been heavily rigged. The violence to the protesters shows that he is a desperate man, desperate enough to do such a despicable deed. Every action he does expresses every aspect of desperateness. The violence and the denial shows that it is not a fair vote. to further disgrace himself, he has denied a second vote, to secure his pathetic position in the government.

If you wish to experience peace, provide peace for another.

The second reason to why he is a disgraceful president, is that he does not respect the meaning of 'freedom'. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is more familiar with the word 'violence', using force against protesters. Basically, he is not much different from a ruthless killer. Actually, he is a ruthless killer with power, which makes it much worse for the world.

Each one has to find his peace from within. And peace to be real must be unaffected by outside circumstances.

What is Iran in the hands of such a president? It is nothing more than terrorism. In fact, it is terrorism, but in it's darker, more secret form. The people of struggling to put forward their ideas, only to be repelled by this devil. A sign of this is the fact that Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is trying to shut Iran from the outside world, so no one will find out about what his little scheme is. Iran is a classic example of a clash between peace and violence. He is the epic centre of cruelty. The only way to bring back peace is to fight back, and I ask you, anyone who has read this blog, to post your protest against against this corrupt president, and make a stand for the people of Iran.

Nothing can bring you peace but yourself.

Tianmen Square Masscre

Yesterday there was a very important event that happened in Hong Kong. It was the protest against the Tianmen Square massacre. It was a very unfair killing. It started off with a handful of chinese students wanting to have the freedom of speech. They gathered into a group and started to attract the attention of other students at other universities. Soon, a total force of 1,000,000 people marched towards Tianmen Square. There, they erected a statue that they carved, which was called 'the statue of freedom' in defiance to the Communist's stance in 'stability' (otherwise known as, no freedom of speech). Unfortunately for the government, they soon started a hunger strike. Even when the cowardly Communist government started to imply physical violence in which to 'restore stability', as the Communists say, the protesters used peaceful means told hold back the army. One man, who became known in China as the 'Tank Man'. He held back the advancing line of tanks, one of the inhumane ways that the PRC uses to crush resistance. They kill by either of these ways: by running over the protesters, or by blasting them to meaty chunks. 'Tank Man' stopped the unceasing advance by climbing onto the tanks, defying the law, and opening the hatch of the lead tank. Eventually, though, the protest came to a violent end. The cruelty of the PRC was horrific. They used rifles, tear gas and tanks to murder innocent civilians, then, when the protesters tried to leave, they surrounded them and used heavy weapons, including heavy objects, to maul the civilians. As the chaos ensued, rickshaw-pullers ventured into no-mans zone to cart out the dead and wounded civilians. It is estimated by the Chinese Red Cross that 2600 civilians died. However, the PRC covered this up and released their own 'official' record, which showed that there were 200 casualties. Adding to their disgraceful action, they erased all evidence of the incident, so children would not learn of it. Even so, many people will never forget how their loved ones were viciously murdered in this bloodbath, and how it will never be replaced.

In my opinion, the PRC should have never been put into power in the first place. They used the slogan 'you give me power, and I make everybody happy and equal'. What the real meaning of this is 'you give me power, and I will take everything away everything from you, then some more'. To keep themselves in power, they offered to make anybody who supports them rich. In my eyes, they are ruthless killers, hidden behind a smiling wax face. One of the best examples is the farming industry. Here is how it works:

1. The farmer harvests his crops
2. The PRC orders the farmer to surrender his crops
3. They give a minute fraction of the harvest to the farmer

Result: The farmer starves

This is just one of the many examples in which the PRC shows it's power and ruthlessness. But, they do have a weakness. Since everybody in China hates the government, all they need is everyone to protest. This way, if the government tries to kill everybody again, nobody will be left working for them. If they don't stop the protesters, their government will come to an abrupt end. All China is waiting for is the spark, which one person must ignite.

Making Video, Lesson 3

Today was a very eventful day. I first went to Tsz Kit's computer to type two slides about cyber-bullying. Unfortunately, one of the group members, Tsz Kit, had the delightful idea of making me the bully victim in the videos. They were too realistic, as I soon found out. After punching scenes, it was almost time to pack up. That's when Tsz Kit and Jason started to argue. Jason was rather clumsy as he switched off the computer by accident, so Tsz Kit had to use my computer. Then, Jason switched off my computer, which looked as if he did it on purpose. After, that it was Afternoon Break.

Making Videos, Lesson 2

Today we started to do our filming. There were quite a lot of problems, since we were arguing about who should use the camera. We even had problems in setting up the camera, which took us about 10 minutes to do so. We tried to film some video, but that didn't work out very well, since one of the videos took 15 minutes to film, and eventually, we abandoned it. In fact, I think that we did not get a lot of things done today.

Making Videos

Today we were busy making our groups to make a video, we decided to focus on cyberbullying. Here is the information that we have prepared:

6 things that we will include in the video, in detail:

1. What Cyberbullying is:
  • Cyberbullying=bullying over the internet
  • Cyberbullying can be in lots of forms
  • People that are cyberbullies try to get personal information

2. Who can cyberbullies be

  • Teenagers
  • Varies
  • Practially anybody, even your closest friend, can be a cyberbully

The slides above are going to be produced by Tsz Kit

3. What cyberbullies do

  • Try to take your personal information
  • Try to meet you in a secret dark place, so that they can do something very, very horrific to you
  • Threaten you so that you will be scared to tell anybody about he cyberbully

4. How to avoid cyberbullies:

  • If you confront a cyberbully in the chat room, tell your parents to come and have a look at the things that the cyberbully is doing. If the situation escalates, you won't have to be scared and stare at the screen. Your parents will call the police.
  • Only talk to people that have been your closest friend for plenty of time, tell your parents if even they seem to be in a suspicious mood
  • Try to avoid talking to cyberbullies in private chat rooms in the first place.

The slides above are going to be produced by me (Mel Li)

5. What to do when you are being bullied:

  • Tell your parents immediately, even if you may feel embarrassed, because that's better than being bullied or even kidnapped right?
  • If the situation gets worse, you can call the police to deal with the matter
  • Don't be scared to tell anybody, because that's what cyberbullies home in on, your fear and secrecy.

6. Source of information

......

7. Credits

Unit 2

Today we were learning to search on google! Actually, we learnt how to use google advanced search. It helps a lot because advanced search lets you lessen the amount of search results to a resonable amount. I ran into a lot of trouble, which meant that I couldn't lessen the amount of search results a lot. I hope next time I get more time to do my work properly next time.

Santa Claus

Santa Claus:

It may seem weird to talk about Santa Claus in an article about Thailand, but it’s he who gave me the extra thing to make my holiday better. It was a surprising day on Christmas Eve, because, after I ate dinner at the hotel and went back to the hotel room, I found a neat rectangular package on the table. Inside was something that I could not believe have arrived in Thailand. A PSP! Though I think it is extremely likely it was a hoax made by my parents, there was one question it created that I couldn’t solve. How did a PSP arrive in Thailand? Just one day before our trip to Thailand, there was no PSP in our home. How could it arrive there? Who cares, but, still I can’t stop wondering if Santa Claus is real……

Day 7 in Samui Resort

 Day 7

Today we did a phenomenal amount of activities. We first took a car to a very small pier, then we took a speedboat to a remote island. The island was hostile enough, but the sea below it housed an enormous amount of coral (perfect for snorkeling) Then, we took the speedboat to another island to do some sightseeing. What was there to see? There was a magnificent lagoon, beaming a bright turquoise. After that, there was another short trip to another island, where our guide cooked lunch. After eating lunch, we went kayaking off the island, unfortunately, the swell was heavy so moving even 1 meter in the water was tough. The last part of our day was the most exciting. We rode ATV's! Then we headed back home.

My view about the boat trip:
If you get seasick easily, this isn’t the ideal place for you. It’s an extremely bumpy ride, sometimes it even feels like you’re in mid-air. There is a box of free refreshments on the boat, with 4 types of soft drinks and bottles of water. If you want to experience the feeling of fast heart pumping, then you’ll like this. You can also feel the spray in your face. The driver doesn’t mind fast speeds, so the up’s and down’s you experience while taking a normal boat is the same, only the motions are like in fast-forward. Have a great time taking the Sea Safari speedboat!

The fast and furious speedboat

My view about kayaking:

It’s a wonderful experience! Imagine you’re surfing. Well, the sea is so high that you’ll feel like you’re surfing! The waves tower over you, then lifts you up like a lift taking a person up. Then you’ll drop down again, to experience the same thing again! It’s like a rollercoaster ride, except it’s natural! There are high black cliffs of sandstone towering over you, and after that, you’ll spot a lush green island, where the fast paddlers can go right up to the island, and the slow paddlers can see from a distance. It’s an experience you’ll never forget!

My view about the ATV’s:

Although I have mentioned that I have ridden in an ATV earlier in my trip, the course at the Sea Safari headquarters is much larger. It’s ridden with bumps and dips, and if you’re willing, you can gun up the motor and experience some short air! There is still one disadvantage though, you are only allowed to go round the track a few times. But, people can lend you their time. So have a great time at Sea Safari’s ATV course!

The next stage of ATV riding

Day 6 in Samui Resort

Day 6

Today I did one of my favorite activities, sharp shooting! We drove for a very long time to reach the sharp shooting arena. It was totally amazing! You can select between paintball fights, BB guns and archery. I did the BB guns. You get to choose between shotguns, snipers, pistols and machineguns. Of course, I didn’t want to believe it myself, but I used the sniper and shot the target in the 8 and 9 area! After that amazing activity, I was too tired to bother to do anything.

My view about BB gun sharp shooting

If you’re looking for action and skill, you can look no further than Samui Shooting Arena! Even if you are a beginner, they have guides to teach you about how to use the gun. Or, you can head to paintball fights for some team action! BB sharp shooting is especially fun because you can select from a range of guns, big and small! There are even 2 types of targets! One of the targets is a normal paper archery target, which is used for seeing how accurate your shots are. The other type of target is a life sized man target. Most people aim for the head, to score the highest points! Come and test your skills, to see if you are a slob, or a pro!

 Samui Sharp Shooting Range

Day 5

Day 5

Today was awesome! I woke up and ate breakfast (which was instant noodles, as always). Then we set off to the first activity of the day, driving ATV’s! An ATV is sort of like a cross between a jeep and a go-cart. Driving through the bumpy dirt tracks was like riding a distressed horse! Then we headed for the classic of Thailand, riding an elephant! It was amazing to be on top of 1 ton of meat and muscle. After that, we drove to a scenic place called ‘Grandma and Grandpa’ which was two rocks that were shaped like a penis and a virgina (how disgusting for a tourist feature). Then we headed back to our hotel.

My view of the ATV:

This buckling crazy ATV takes you at your preferred speed through a huge jungle track! Enjoy the lush undergrowth as you speed along the adventurous dirt track! Go through 4 types of track which are labeled A,B,C and D. A is the hardest, I couldn’t enter it because it was to dangerous for me. Track B is also extremely dangerous, so I couldn’t enter either. Track C I was able to enter. It has 5 ramps in total. There is a bridge that goes up, and then a dizzying drop down. Track D is the easiest, but even that has large ramps strewn along the beginning of the track. It is only for people who have nerves of solid wood or harder.

Adventurous ATV driving

My view of the elephant ride:

Imagine riding on 1 ton of pure hard muscle. That pretty much describes what it’s like to ride on an elephant. The even more unbelievable part is that you are suspended about 3 meters above the ground. You ride to 2 waterfalls, the second one is the tallest. People like to swim in the cool, fresh water and enjoy the spray showering them. It’s a place fit for kings!

Me and my dad on the elephant

My view of the Grandma and Grandpa rock:

Okay, so it’s a bit disgusting. But you can also admire the huge waves crashing onto the shore of the island. There is a hole near the Grandpa rock, and it’s like a mini geyser, spewing out a huge fountain of spray from it’s little hole. The Grandma rock is really hard to find, but, who cares! I don’t want you to see this disgusting feature!

The Grandpa rock

Day 4 in Koh Samui

Day 4

It’s an outrageous experience! One of the best sightseeing trips in Samui is the Sea Tram experience! Alec (a friend of my dad) drove us to the largest pier on Samui, then we took a first class fast ferry to an island named Koh Tao. That island has an amazing beach. The tour guide told us that we may bask in the sun, or we could swim or snorkel to see some amazing coral and underwater life! Then we headed for a more populated island to indulge in a delicious lunch, with either French or Thai food. Then we went offshore to choose between scuba-diving or snorkeling. I chose snorkeling, and I saw the best underwater life in the whole of Thailand’s islands. It was the best sightseeing experience of my trip.

The island of Koh Tao

My view of Koh Tao:

An amazing island with a view to complete it. Where can you bask in the sun in pure yellow sand, or, where can you swim in turquoise waters? This is the place if you’re looking for the description above. Enjoy waves slapping gently across you’re face, and snorkel to see a huge range of aquatic life. There are fishes of different shapes and sizes, and none of them sting or bite. Expect the best from this one-of-a-kind island.

My view of snorkeling offshore:

Be like a fish in this submerged world! See the fishes swimming about the coral reef, flashing all their brilliant colors at you. If you just drop one chunk of bread or fruit into the water, schools of fish will come swimming towards it, making a football-sized ball of silver. Be careful of sharp rocks though. They can cut you’re flesh like a knife slicing through butter. Other than that, enjoy the diverse marine life.

Snorkeling+1 naughty Dad

My view of the boat trip:

A really fun trip isn’t complete without comfort, so enjoy the Sea Tran ferry’s hospitality! You can choose between the indoors or outdoors. The indoors is a very good choice, since the seats are padded well and the place is air-conditioned. But, if you think the indoors is too cold, or you want a better view, you should choose the outdoors. You can’t beat the outdoors, with it’s outstanding view of the islands and sea. The ship has 2 floors, the upper one with the better view. There is also a small shop on the lower floor, where you can buy drinks or chips. So enjoy a comforting trip with Sea Tran’s ferry!

Dy 3 in Koh Samui

Day 3

Today we went to a travel agent to book the snorkeling experience. After that, we went to a French restaurant, which was pathetic because the prices of the food were too high, and they didn’t even have any French food for some reason. It was a disaster for a day.

My view of the French restaurant:

Pathetic in every way possible except for an interesting dog fight that took place on the restaurant’s beach. The dogs were very violent and ganged up on each other, to bite and tackle each other to the ground. I recommend you to never enter this restaurant.

Day 2 in Koh Samui

Day 2

Today was the first day that I went to one of Samui’s beaches. The beach really sucked, because there are loads of jellyfish in there, and I was stung so badly that I didn’t venture near that beach again. After the beach we went to a restaurant called Ninja, and ate a merry lunch there. After that, we went to a supermarket, where we wasted a whole day in using the internet.

My view about the beach:

Beautiful but painful.

My view of the Ninja:

Although it may seem shabby at first, this restaurant has pretty good food (probably I was hungry at the time). You can order from a range of fish to pork, and make you’re senses complete. So have a great time at the Ninja.

My view of the supermarket:

Although I only sat there while my dad wasted time on the internet, the place is remarkably small for a shopping center. There are only about 12 shops in total at this shopping mall, in which there is an internet restaurant. That’s all I have to say about the shopping mall. Have a great time at Big C!

Day 1 in Koh Samui

Day 1

Today was the start of my holiday! I woke up from my comfortable bed to a clear, sunny day. I had a plain breakfast of bread, seaweed and milk (ohhh, I wanted to have dumplings!) Then it was time to read novels. The novel I was reading was reading is very interesting. It is a war story and a modern classic (which means that it is world famous and very interesting) This story is set in World War 2, when the war is nearly at it’s end. An army of men is about to land on the island of Anopopei to scour the lives of any Japanese soldiers away. The soldiers get onto the landing craft and storm onto the island. The island seems peaceful at first, so the men start digging holes in the sand on the beach to protect themselves from any attack. Suddenly the sky explodes with whistling shells. An unlucky man in one of the holes needs to go and pee, so he ventures from the safety of his own hole to pee in the sea. Unexpectedly, a lone shell comes whistling through the smoky sky. The man turns slowly round…… and screams.

The body of the man is soon recovered after the huge bombardment of shells is over. Soldiers start advancing through the island, careful to avoid the trees (since it is very humid in a jungle, if you didn’t know). Surprisingly, they meet weak resistance, only a few minor skirmishes here and there. Life is peaceful except for a major storm which wet everything in the camp for 1 or 2 weeks. That soon will change……

The army soon reaches their first battle on a medium-deep river on the island. A crazy free for all charge of Japanese soldiers frantically try to reach the Americans on the other side of the medium-deep river. The river is still shallow enough to cross, but the river still slows the Japanese considerably, and the American machine guns mow the Japanese down like a lawnmower cuts grass. Soon, the river is littered with bodies. One Japanese man survives, and is captured by the Americans. They treat him like a friend, until they got to a tree, let him close his eyes and lie there. When the Japanese man barely opens his eye with a joyful grin on his face, a rifle bullet cracks through the air and hits the Japanese in the head, turning him into a statue, with a frozen grin.

That is what I have read so far. We took the comfortable airport bus to airport. It was amazing to cross the majestic suspension bridge called the Ching Ma bridge. We arrived at the airport. The airport is an abnormally large airport, which is more like a shopping mall and an airport combined. It has a spacious interior, which is silver. From there we took a plane to a Thai island called Koh Samui. On the way, there was a stupid whining Thai boy sitting in front of me, and I suspected that there was an American couple sitting behind me. In Koh Samui we met Alec and Milos and went to a restaurant on a beautiful beach, and ate a majestic range of seafood, staying there until midnight (which is pretty late)

Here is my view of our home:

It has a majestic view, where land, sea and air combine to make a classic landscape. The only problem which affects the view is the high pollution index of Hong Kong. Our house is very large for Hong Kong standards, which is 1900 square feet. The furniture is very modern. The main colors of our house are black, brown and white. The house sits in midair, about 25 storeys up.

Here is my view about the trip to the airport:

The most amazing feature about the trip to the airport is crossing the two suspension bridges that link New Territories to Lantau island. The sea looks as if you could lift it up, like a huge translucent block. The mountains rise and fall like the waves on the sea, like green infested waves. The sky is most of the time a crisp blue, very clear and cheery. It is a wonderful sight indeed.

Here is my view of the airport:

People have recently opened a new terminal in an already large airport. There are hundreds of small bustling shops, making you twist your head like a screwdriver to see the twinkling lights in the shops. There is a 4D cinema, which basically means that you can actually feel what’s going on in the movie you’re watching. Terminal 1 of the airport is so large that they have to put flat escalators and even a subway train to get to you gate. The entrance to the gate has lots of seats, so you won’t have to worry about comfort in waiting. Have a great time in the airport!

Here is my view about the Thai restaurant:

An amazing feat to behold! This is a marvelous and unique restaurant because it is built directly behind a beach! The seafood is delicious and ranges from mussels to Tong Yin soup. When I was there, the sky was as black as ink. But if it was in the morning, the view would be unparallel to anything you’ve seen before. So have a merry time in this Thai restaurant!

After a 3 hour flight we finally arrived at Koh Samui Airport. Amazingly, there is no arriving hall at the airport. Everybody stands outdoors to do the passport check, and the airplanes scream behind us while they take off. We are only 10 meters from the runway! During the flight I had a couple of cokes. Therefore, you can imagine what I did at the airport.

General Outlook of Samui

My Holiday

The hotel that I live in right now is called the “Samui Peninsula” (I think)

This is the view of our resort from my balcony.

It is besides a wonderfully large and turquoise colored bay. There is a small inlet on the right of the bay which has huge white-tipped waves crashing onto the shore at any minute. The waves seem to have a sort of rhythm, growing and falling, growing and falling. Even the water which makes up the waves seem to have a life of it’s own, shining like a beautiful blue gem, seeming to beckon you closer with every look you give it. Further away in the distance, the water seems to get darker as it suddenly deepens. It looks extremely hostile, giving you the feeling that there is a monster lurking deep in the waters depth, waiting to pounce on you. The hotel sits on a cliff overlooking the bay. The cliff is not really a cliff, it is merely a small drop of about 45 degrees. Behind the hotel is the lush green land, full of Mother Nature’s beauty. There is more to see inside……

This is the bay in front of the resort..

The rooms of the hotel are extremely large, such as the one I am sitting in right now. It has a very modernly designed interior, designed to give you an unparallel view of the bay. It is built for comfort and luxury.

This my Mum in our hotel room

My room has a open balcony, overlooking the bay. Every morning, I would sit in the balcony and east my breakfast. My Mum would give instant noodle and milk for breakfast. I normally sit in the balcony and read a novel first. Then my Mum will call for breakfast.

This is Mum and me in the balcony, having our breakfast.

From the balcony, we can see the reception of the hotel. Over the reception, we can see the bay. If it is a sunny day, the bay has different colors, from light blue to dark blue. It is raining day (like our last day), the sea looks grey. We can also see my extortive trees in the garden below the balcony. There are flowers with all kinds colors, such as white and red. The palms are also very different from those in Hong Kong.

This is my Mum sitting in the balcony.

This is the view again from our balcony. There are some beautiful white flowers on the tree. Can you see?

There is much more than the rooms waiting for you. The swimming pool is open in the first of light and the afternoon. It looks at first glance to the casual observer to me connecting to the bay. But, that is only a design feature to it. There is a bar on beside the pool, and a cafĂ© right on top of it. People like to sunbathe on the relaxing bed-chairs, or just simple frolic in the pool.

This is the pool Note that the pool looks like it is connecting to the sea, but this is really just an illusion result from the design effect.

From the swimming pool, we can borrow towels and go gown to the beach. There is a small hut just besides the beach, where we can sit down on the beach chairs. Mum likes to sit there and order a cup of coffee (or maybe coconut) and enjoy the view. My Dad goes with me to the beach.

This is the hut where my Mum had her coffee.

I bright a large float that I bought at the Big Wave Bay in Hong Kong. I had another big yellow float from Italy and I played it at Italy. It was very nice. However, it got broken after I bright it back to Hong Kong, so I got another replacement. This time I brought my float to Thailand. It is perfect for Koh Samui. I want to play it like last time in Italy. However, soon, I found a serious problem……

Mum is about to order coffee.

This is me and my Dad besides the small hut. The background is the small island across the bay.

This is the beach below our hotel.

After I jumped into the water, I found out that the water was perfect crystal clear and the temperature was perfect. Me and my Dad swam to a small island that was not far from the beach. There were also a young couple who were completely naked that were playing in the sea.

Unfortunately, I soon felt a number of small uncomfortable stings coming from the water. To this day, I still haven’t found out why I got stung. Beware reader, prepare a first-aid kit for those stings. Anyway, I don’t like it! So I ran out of the water. Then I shouted to my Dad, and we made a hasty walk back to the hotel.

There is also a choice of messages on the beach below the bay. The messages come so often on the island. There are even messages on the boats that traverse between Samui and other islands! There’s more still……

Even if I did not experience a massage, it’s good fun to see people lying there like dead fish being beaten. Look at the picture below, and you’ll get my meaning. It seems that the massagers put some dirty brown oil that looks very corrosive onto the body of the victims. Then they knead the body like bread dough, and beat them like savage tribal members. After the victim gets beaten, they have to pay for their torture. It’s fun (if you’re stupid enough)

This is one of the massage huts on the beach.

This is how the massage girls work.

Not only are the outdoors good, but there is an amazing room service too! It is like having a restaurant in every room! After choosing from the huge range from Chinese to American food, all you have to do is wait for a little while and…… wala! You have a dish made with love and care served at your doorstep! (Picture not available)

The hotel has one disadvantage. Everything here is pretty expensive. I think everybody is a cheapskate and they are too greedy for money.
